About Us

HAVING FUN AT DULCIMER CAMP

Welcome to the Spokane Dulcimer Guild website!

Our group is composed of amateur musicians who play and /or build the Mountain Dulcimer , Lap Dulcimer and Plucked Dulcimer.  If you are familiar with the instrument you will know that all three types are the same!  We welcome any stringed instrument to our group as the addition of hammered dulcimer, guitar, bass or fiddle, mandolin and banjo adds to the richness of all the tunes that we play.

Meetings are usually held twice a month at locations in the Spokane area.  In the summer of 2021, we started meeting at the Hillyard Public Library.

If you would like to learn, play or just chat about instruments and music, please email us from the Contact page and we will respond as soon as possible. We occasionally send emails about concerts or workshops online that might be of interest to our members. And of course we use the email list to notify members when we are meeting.

We will post dates, times and locations of meetings and other events on the Calendar and Events page.  Generally, our first hour is dedicated to new or novice players with the remaining time dedicated to both slow and fast 'jams'.

Also visit us on our Facebook Page!

If you choose to join our group the annual membership is $15 which covers the group participation and booth at the Spokane Folk Festival held in November each year in the city of Spokane, WA.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us from the Contact page.  We look forward to hearing from you soon!
